fruit on glass: close up still life
Concord Library, Concord , Massachusetts, August 2002

My senses are captured by the play of light, shadow and reflection in these casual arrangements of fruit on glass. What began as a technical exploration of the intersections of shadows and reflections, has led to a love of these interactions of color and the desire to explore them further. I work in oils because it permits me to build up these patterns of color and reflected light.
Five of these paintings were included in the show Close Up.
